Happy Mother's Day
This is my very 1st Mother's Day. All these years, I've always celebrate Mother's Day with my mummy or buy pressie for her. Nw, I'm already upgraded & have a little daughter who will know how to celebrate this day with me in a few years time. Mmm, how's my feelings regarding this day??? Actually, it has not set in to me yet. Still not used to the fact that I'm a Mummy. Today, when I talked to Evangeline, I forgotten to address myself as "Mummy, blah blah blah..." and said to her "Jie Jie, blah blah blah...". Hahaha... Still thinking I'm a Jie Jie...
How did I spend my 1st Mother's Day? I started the day as usual, bathed Evangeline, feed her, read storybook to her, talk to her, etc... We went to Changi Village for seafood dinner as my father striked 4D (yesterday & so blessed lucky today too!!!). The food wasn't fantastic as it was so crowded and the food quality standard dropped. Nevertheless, this is expected due to the full house effect! Then, both James & I came back to Pasir Ris to spend the nite with our gal. We'll be bringing her to Vivo city tomorrow for shopping - again!!!

Ear Piercing
Before (a happy face) & After (a sad face!)
5 May 2008, the nite my mummy brought me to beautify my ears at The Neptune Clinic @ Blk 328 Clementi Ave 4. It was done by a Malay female doc and costs S$30 inclu of a pair of earrings. I knew my ears were gonna be pierced and I struggled a fair bit. When the 1st gun shot through my right ear, I got a shock and started to cry out loud a few seconds later. And I sobbed uncontrollably when my left ear got pierced. I felt pain, both my ears were red. I'm only 3 mths 2 wks & 1 day old. My ah-ma & mummy were so vain, brought me to pierce my ears without asking for my permission. But then again, it's a good beginning as I don't think I'll dare to pierce my ears when I grow older because I'll be worried of the pain... Moreover, whenever I'm out, there will be bound to have people asking if I were a boy or gal! My mummy is so tired of emphasizing that I'm a GIRL!!! Hopefully, with this pair of earrings on my ears, people will see that I'm a pretty little girl.

Eve on Bumbo chair

Eve, your head is very steady now. Mummy has been putting you on Bumbo chair everyday for at least 10 mins so that you can learn how to sit. Whenever you sit on the chair, you'll always look at Leo because he is so near to you. Your vision will always follow his movements. Mummy can tell that you are curious about him and will definitely LOVES him like how Daddy & Mummy love him. Leo will be your playmate in time to come. However, please don't bully him (because we just have the feeling you will do so when you are able to grab things!)
Today, there is a very funny incident which Mummy would like to note down. Mummy was changing your diaper because you pooed. As I was preparing to wipe your buttock, you let out a huge fart with wind! Your fart wind blew at Mummy's face! OMG! There's a small piece of poo almost hit me. Luckily, I "siam" in time! Mummy told you off, and you could still grin at me! It was like you did it on purpose! It was such a funny sight, actually...

2nd 6-in-1 jab & Rotavirus on 22 Apr 08
This was what I wore when I went for my jab! Do I look big here?
We went to Kid's Clinic in Sengkang for Eve's 2nd 6-in-1 jab & Rotavirus (prevention oral medicine for diarrhoea) in the late morning. Although we had an appt with Dr Allyson Tan (her paediatrician) at 10.30am, we waited till 11.30am. During the checkup, Dr Tan commented the following:
- Eve's weight is healthy @ 50% percentile
- Eve has steadily increased her weight & usually a bb will doubled her birth weight @ 4th mth but she has almost doubled @ 3rd mth - so she's good!
- Eve looks alert & active
- Eve starts to recognize people
- Eve behaves & seems like a 4 mth old baby
- Eve can lift up her head very steadily (when put on her tummy)
- Eve can lift up her shoulder firmly (when put on her tummy)
- Eve is talkative girl (Because she coos, erhs & responds so much to Dr Tan)
- Eve is a pretty girl
- Eve is fierce! (Because she was screaming & making so much noise)
After the checks, Dr Tan fed her Rotavirus oral medicine & administered the 6-in-1 jab into her right buttock. She let out a cry and was alright after that. I think she's pretty brave and didn't really cry out like a wailing child! We were afraid that she'll develop fever due to the jab and fed her paracetamol once we reached home. Luckily, Eve was fine throughout the day and still as active as always. She doesn't need any jab now until 2 mths later on 24 Jun 08 @ 1130hrs for her 3rd jab.
Her growth
Weight: 5.9kg
Length: 62cm
At first I was worried about her growth and development because she was considered pretty short in length (47cm) at birth. However, she has caught up with the average babies in length and weight. I am also very happy that Dr Tan said she's like a 4 mth old baby in terms of behaviour & actions. I think she has grew pretty well & fast and I start to think "Hmm, perhaps it's due to my breastmilk which makes her more alert, active & intelligent!" Suddenly, I felt that all my nightshift and great efforts in latching & pumping paid off well. I should continue my duties as a conscientious mummy!
